WASTED TIME
For this short film, I get asked a lot about the lighting setup, but the truth is, I didn’t use any lights at all. Everything you see here was shot using natural, on-location lighting, outside, inside, wherever we were. No modifiers, no setups, just letting the environment shape the mood.
The entire piece was shot on my Sony FX3, using only a gimbal and two lenses. That’s it.
We pulled inspiration from the idea of wasted potential for the story. I wrote, shot, and edited this all within the same day and posted it the next.
I knew right away that YU$E was the perfect actor for this. There’s a specific characteristic and set of mannerisms I had in mind for the lead, and he embodied them exactly how I envisioned.
